Big Mouth Bass

A quick cast with a light line spinning reel and rod into the clear spring feed water of Jim Smith Lake and wham! A strong jerk of the line meant the fight was on. A big mouth bass hit the lure hard and luckily I had set the drag right for it. I let him go for a run but kept the line tight. I could see he was about twelve inches of gleeming fighte. He hit the surface and tried to shake loose then dove down pulling hard. I pulled him back to the surface and scooped with the net - got him!
