Access

Lesser Slave Lake has some great access points. West End go to Shaw's Point Resort or Hilliard's Bay Provincial Park. Shaw's Point has 2 marina's and all the supplies you will need. On the South Shore of the Lake there are 3 Government Marina's. Joussard, Faust and Canyon Creek, all have good access to some great fishing spots as well as some fantastic Camping nearby. Bayshore Resort in Faust and Spruce Point Park in Kinuso both have their own Marina. At the East End of the Lake access can be found at Roland on the River or Norm's Walleye Camp as well as a local Municipal District Boat Launch. Lot's of access points around the best Walleye fishing accessible lake in Alberta. For the larger fish, you must launch your boat at the Lesser Slave Lake river boat launch and travel to Dog Island to the North West corner and there you will find lunkers.

Excellent area for walleye fishing. Most still fish with minnows or leeches. I find better results very slowly trolling a spinner bait with a large dew worm.

Just out from the bay lies a trench under the water. Great for Walleye later in the season. Still fishing minnows in their face is great 2" from the bottom when you locate this trench.
